“MS Dhoni threw helmet never saw him”… Suresh Raina shares a shocking story

Often regarded as Mr. IPL, former CSK batter Suresh Raina went down memory lane. Suresh Raina shared a story regarding Ms. Dhoni in which he saw him this angry for the first time.
CSK had suffered a heartbreaking loss against Punjab in qualifier 2 way back in 2014. That loss had hurt Dhoni deeply. He was so angry after the loss that he threw his helmet in the dressing room.

In his interaction with Lallantop Suresh Raina, he said, “I have never seen Dhoni that angry. He vented it out after that match. He was like, ‘We don’t score runs; we don’t do this, that’. He threw his pads and helmet into the dressing room. He was irritated that we lost a match that we should have won. He was angry because we lost a match that we shouldn’t have. Otherwise, we would have won the IPL that year as well.”

Speaking of the match, after being invited to bat first, Punjab posted a mammoth total of 226/6, with Virendra Sehwag scoring 122 of just 58 deliveries. Later in the inning, David Miller played a perfect game, scoring 38 of just 19 deliveries.
In reply, Suresh Raina played one of the best innings in IPL history, scoring 87 of just 25 deliveries, but unfortunately got run out.

Speaking about that, Knock Suresh Raina said, “I felt like a man possessed. The previous day, I had a dream that I would do something special. I was seeing the ball like a football. But I was running out. The ball hitting the bat gave me a very different sound. I was feeling like no one could stop me.”

Suresh Raina retired from cricket after the completion of IPL 2021 and has been participating in commentary since then.
