The biopic of former Indian captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni – MS Dhoni:The Untold Story will re-release in theatres almost after six years on May 12. The announcement was made by the makers through a tweet on May 4th.Star Studios came on their official Twitter Handle and wrote,”Jab Mahi phir pitch pe aayega, pura India sirf “Dhoni! Dhoni! Dhoni!” chilaayega. M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story Re-Releasing in cinemas on 12th May.”
This sports drama has been written by Neeraj Pandey and Dilip Jha and was initially released on September 30, 2016. The movie portrays the life of MS Dhoni starting from his down to earth journey in Ranchi to his rise to the Indian cricket team.
The story concludes with his iconic six that secured India’s victory in the 2011 World Cup final against Sri Lanka.Dhoni has already said goodbye to international cricket in 2020 and since then the team India is still looking for his replacement. However, widely regarded as captain cool, Dhoni still plays in IPL as the captain of the most famous franchise Chennai Super Kings.In this film, Sushant Singh Rajput played the role of MS Dhoni. Disha Patani played the role of Dhoni’s girlfriend while Sakshi Dhoni was portrayed by Kiara Advani. Anupam Kher played the role of his father and all the actors nailed it in the nicest way.
The film emerged as a commercial hit and earned more than 216 crores at the box office.Dhoni is the only captain, who has won the ICC T20 World Cup, the ODI World Cup and also the ICC Champions Trophy.
