Nicholas Pooran was completely stunned to see the amount of support that Ms. Dhoni received from the crowd. It was LSG’s home ground, but the crowd turned yellow to support CSK. Ms. Dhoni also did not disappoint the crowd, scoring 28 out of just nine deliveries.
Dhoni helped CSK post a competitive total of 176 on the board. However, the Lucknow Super Giants won the match by eight wickets.
After the match, Nichols Pooran too praised Dhoni, calling him a national hero.
Nicholas Pooran said, “It’s not only this season, but every season. When he was coming in with the bat, there was a sea of yellow outside. It was amazing to see. He is a national hero.”
Pooran further added, “We did not play at the time of Brian Lara; everyone is a die-hard fan of him. But it’s nice to witness something like that. It feels good to be in that position, but I’m happy to be on the park with him and share those moments so that we can tell our kids and grand children.”
Pooran too had a decent outing with the bat. The southpaw scored 23 out of just 12 deliveries, which included three fours and one six.
