Hardik Pandya credited Ms. Dhoni and Matheesha Pathirana as the two major differences between the two teams. CSK ended the Mumbai Indians winning by a run at home, winning the contest by 20 runs.
In his post-match presentation, Hardik was quick to admit that the target of 207 was attainable, but it was Matheesha Pathirana who was the difference between the two sides. Hardik also shared his views and was all praise for Dhoni for his guidance from behind the wickets.
Hardik Pandya said, “Definitely, gettable. But they bowled pretty well, and Pathirana was the difference. They were smart with their plans and used the longer boundary well. They got the hang of it, and they have a man behind the stumps telling them what’s working.”
It was a comprehensive victory for CSK, as Matheesha Pathirana missed a couple of matches due to a niggle.. He was the pick of the bowlers, picking up four wickets and giving away just 28 runs in his four overs.
Hardik Pandya also mentioned that at one time it was very hard to hit pacers through the line, but he hopes that his team will make a comeback in the upcoming matches.
Speaking about the same, Hardik Pandaya said, “The ball was slightly gripping, and they got ahead of the game. Until Pathirana came, we were on course for the total. It was just about what was best at that point (on whether they could have used a spinner for Dube?). For seamers, it was more difficult to hit on this wicket. We are now on the road for the next four games. If we are smart, we can get the goal we want.”
