During the IPL 2022, there were widespread rumors about a rift between Chennai Super Kings CSK players Ravindra Jadeja and captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. However, the former batter of CSK Ambati Rayudu dismissed these claims while having an interview with Behindwoods TV.
Rayudu said that there was no such rift between Jadeja and Dhoni and it was just a manipulated gossip by the media.During the IPL 2022, fans saw a drastic change as MS Dhoni handed over the captaincy to Ravindra Jadeja before the start of the season. However, the transition didn’t go as smoothly as expected. Jadeja’s performance suffered under the burden of captaincy and he made the decision to step down from his role as captain in mid-season.However, Chennai Super Kings got Ravindra Jadeja back for IPL 2023 and the all-rounder hit the winning runs for CSK in the final of the 16th edition against Gujarat Titans.
With this, CSK managed to lift the trophy for the fifth time.In a recent review, Rayudu said that Jadeja was not upset or had any issues with the team’s captain MS Dhoni.”I don’t think Jaddu was upset with Mahi bhai at all. It was just that he was sad because the team wasn’t doing great. Everyone’s performances that year were not up to the mark,”
Rayudu said in the interview.Furthermore, Rayudu also talked about the Dhoni’s backing in developing Ravindra Jadeja, a World Class all-rounder.”He (Dhoni) has put this team and has made Jaddu what he is today. He has nurtured him for what, 10-12 years. So he would naturally be happy that the product that he made has won the final for CSK after whatever happened last year,” Rayudu said.
