Ms Dhoni achieves this elusive milestone for Chennai Super kings

Chennai Super Kings lost to Royal Challengers Bengaluru in game 8 of the IPL 2025 on March 28 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. RCB batted first after winning the toss and set a solid target of 196 runs, thanks to great performances from Rajat Patidar, Phil Salt, and Virat Kohli.

In response, CSK struggled to keep up. Rachin Ravindra was the standout for CSK, scoring 41 runs off 31 balls. MS Dhoni also had a brief but impactful innings, making 30 runs off 16 balls. With this score, Dhoni became the highest run-scorer for CSK in IPL history, bringing his total runs to 4,699, surpassing Suresh Raina.

Despite CSK’s efforts to contain RCB, Patidar proved to be a tough challenge. Noor Ahmad took the most wickets in the first innings with three. Matheesha Pathirana picked up two, while Khaleel Ahmed and R Ashwin claimed one each.

In the second innings, besides Ravindra’s efforts, other batters couldn’t get going. Josh Hazlewood was the star for RCB, also taking three wickets, while Yash Dayal and Liam Livingstone each took two.
