“Most prepared, experienced …”Sanju Samson gives a massive statement on his T20 world Cup preparation and selection

When it comes to his preparation for leading India in the T20 World Cup 2024, Sanju Samson stated that he believes he is better prepared than he has ever been. The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is over, and Samson achieved 531 runs in 16 matches for RR while maintaining an incredibly stable batting record.

In addition to Rishabh Pant, the 29-year-old batsman’s excellence guaranteed him a spot in India’s World Cup squad as a wicketkeeper-batter. Samson’s potential to make the Indian playing XI is yet unknown, but interest in him has already skyrocketed.

“Sanju Samson has never entered a World Cup with this level of preparation and experience. Numerous years filled with numerous setbacks interspersed with occasional triumphs. Actually, I’ve learned everything I needed to know about life and cricket before this important tournament. My entire attention was occupied by the IPL itself; there was a lot to do and consider. I had a lot on my mind as the captain. Nonetheless, I had a vague memory that World Cup selections were imminent, and that was a significant event,” Samson remarked.

“It was a huge thing actually, it was one of the best things that could ever happen in my career and those thoughts kept on playing. I knew that I had a reasonably good season in the IPL where I had chances to get in. But at the same time, I knew how difficult it was going to be. It entirely depended upon what the team wanted, what combination the team management were looking for. The moment I was convinced that ‘Yes Sanju I think you are prepared’, then life and cricket gave it back to me,’ Sanju added.

Samson was dismissed for only one run in their warm-up match against Bangladesh, so he hasn’t had the best start to the World Cup. In spite of Samson’s collapse, India easily defeated Bangladesh thanks to some outstanding performances from players like Arshdeep Singh, Rishbah Pant, and Hardik Pandya.
