Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of PCB, was very vocal against the social media trolls that questioned the in-time up-gradation of the Karachi and Lahore stadiums undertaken by the board ahead of the February 19 Champions Trophy. PCB has been facing alleged and discredited criticism for a month regarding the apt completion of renovation of the stadiums where the Champions Trophy matches will be played. Concerns arose that Pakistan may not upgrade its stadiums in time after the venue for a bilateral Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh was shifted from Karachi to Rawalpindi last year and the stadium deadline later on was extended.
Be that as it may, the board ensured that the stadiums would be available in time for the event. Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore hosted two matches, where Pakistan faced New Zealand and South Africa came to play against New Zealand.
Taking part in the inauguration of the newly renovation-ed Karachi Stadium on Tuesday, Naqvi made scathing remarks aimed at social media trollers claiming PCB would not fulfil the renovation work requirement ahead of schedule.
“We win, you lose. This is for those who said on social media that we could not finish this stadium. Had we failed to complete this, you would have succeeded, and we would have failed. Having completed the project means we won, and you lose,” Naqvi was quoted as saying by Geo News.
He also praised the workers for their hard work, which ensured the project was brought on time, “I admit it here; it looks better than Lahore’s Gaddafi stadium.”
The new pavilion of the stadium presents dressing rooms of the players and transgender officiates, offering hospitality for their convenience.
The new pavilion is one of the major upgrades being worked on at the National Bank Stadium Karachi to provide a better experience for playing and watching audiences.
National Bank Stadium, Karachi will host the ODI Tri-nation series match between Pakistan and South Africa on Wednesday.
