Mohammad Shami is all set to be ruled out for…. Reports make a big claim

Mohammed Shami’s comeback has cricket-crazy Indians waiting in anticipation as the fast bowler has been out for a long time owing to a knee injury. After doing a brilliant job for the team at the ODI World Cup 2023, he has had to go under the knife due to the same injury and has been on rehabilitation ever since. It was assessed that the star pacer will make a comeback to play for the country in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia .Australia in November this year but one more development about Shami has left all the fans in despair.

In the Latest on NCA, BCCI and cricket India news, Shami’s knee has reported to have swollen recently which is expected to take six to eight weeks to recover.

This means that the five-match Test series with Australia will now be in question for his availability.

“Shami had started bowling again, and he appeared ready to make a return to regular match play very soon. But this knee problem has come back to bother him very recently. The injury is being monitored by the team of doctors and physiotherapists at the BCCI but it looks like it will take some time,” was the statement made by the BCCI source to the TOI.

“The NCA medical staff has been shocked by this. The man has been in their care for the last year and a half. The workload management system is one of the best of its kind available. Every effort is being made by the medical team to ensure that he is back on the field as soon as possible.”

In one of his interviews, Shami had earlier mentioned that he is trying hard to wear the blue jersey of India very soon.

“Koshish jaldi hi kar raha hoon kyun ke main janta hoon kaafi time ho gaya hai team se bahar rehte hue (I am doing my best to come back very quickly because I know I have been away from the team for a long period). And yet, I do not wish to come back where there is irritation. I have to focus on my training so that I return to the team without any irritation,” Shami added.

“The better I come back, the more it pleases me. I don’t want to hurry up and take the risk of reinjuring myself whether it is Bangladesh, New Zealand or the Australia series. Only trolling has already begun for me, however I will not take chances with my game until I am fully fit,” he added.
