Mohammad Kaif Picks X-factor For Delhi Capitals, Says – He Can Win The Trophy For The Team

Delhi capitals are one such team in the history of IPL which has a lot of potential but they are still to lift a trophy in this cash-rich league. After some decent seasons, under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer Delhi Capitals went into the Finale but lost to Mumbai in 2020. This year Delhi is being handled by the star Australian opener David Warner as the team’s regular captain Rishabh Pant is set to miss the IPL 2023 due to injury.

Meanwhile, the former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif has praised David Warner for his exceptional batting performance in IPL and referred to him as a legendary player. David Warner was the man under whom SRH won the IPL trophy in 2016 and now Kaif feels that this batter could help Delhi as well to get a trophy in the absence of Rishabh Pant.

“The team’s strength for me, I’ll always say, is Warner. He is the kind of player that, whenever he’s in form, can win matches single-handedly. Warner probably never gets the credit he deserves but he’s proven to be a legendary batter in IPL history,” said Kaif on Star Sports.

Kaif further talked and said that David Warner could be the X-factor for the team and he can pass on his experience to other teammates.

“He has understood the Indian conditions supremely well. He’s been playing in India for a while. So for me, Warner is the X factor. Delhi needs to decide who’s going to replace Rishabh Pant. It will be a daunting question,” Kaif added.

In IPL 2022, David Warner made a comeback to Delhi Capitals after a gap of nine years. He began his IPL journey with Delhi in 2009 and then in 2014 he was selected by Sunrisers Hyderabad.
