Mitchell Starc Joins Elite Company as Australia’s 4th Highest Wicket-taker in Test Matches

Two of the biggest rivals in cricket, Australia and New Zealand, are up against each other for the final time in the ongoing two-match test series.

The second test match of the series has become quite special for Australian speedster Mitchel Starc, as he picked up the first wicket for Australia, going past Dennis Lilly, becoming the fourth-highest wicket taker for Australia.

Starc dismissed opener Will Young to pick up his 335th test match wicket, going past Dennis Lillee to become the fourth highest wicket taker for Australia. Starc has also now gotten into the top 25 highest wicket takers in test matches around the world.

The pace bowler has had both good and bad times in his career but has been one of the most prominent bowlers in modern-day cricket alongside Pat Cummins and Josh Hazelwood.

Starc made his test debut for Australia way back in 2011 but still has not been able to play 100 test matches for Australia.

Speaking of the match Australia is currently in the driver’s seat as the visitors have bundled host for just 162. For Australia, it was Josh Hazelwood who picked up five wickets in the first inning. Hazelwood got brilliant support from Starc, who picked up three wickets from the other end.

Australia are currently leading the series by 1-0, and so far this team has played 11 tests in the WTC cycle, winning seven and losing only three.
