Star Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has given his thoughts on Australia’s chances in the upcoming World Cup 2023. The World Cup will take place in India later this year and Australians are looking to make it count as they have done in the past. Marsh is presently representing Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League 2023 and predicted that Australia would defeat India by a margin of 385 runs in the final of the tournament.
Although the prediction seems somewhat very strange it is worth noting that Australia has a strong record in the World Cup and they have won the tournament on five occasions (in 1987, 1999, 2003, 2007 and 2015). Due to this they are one of the top contenders to become the champion.
Marsh said that Australia would score 450 runs while batting first and his team would bundled out India on 65 runs.
While sharing his words for a Podcast for Delhi Capitals, Marsh said, “Australia will stay undefeated, defeating India in the final. Australia 450/2 in the final, India all out 65.”
Australia defeated India in the final of the World Cup back in 2003. The match was held at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg and was won by Australia where captain Ricky Ponting made an exceptional hundred which helped Australia to beat India.
