While batting first after losing the toss, RCB posted a total of 196 runs at the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Mumbai Indians chased it down in 15.3 overs at the loss of four wickets.
In this match, star Indian bowler Jasprit Bumrah who plays for Mumbai Indians was picked as man of the match for his sensational bowling performance. Bumrah got five wickets in his four overs quota with an expense of 21 runs.
With this, the bowler scripted history and became the first bowler to clinch a five-wicket haul against RCB. Not only this, he became the fourth bowler in the history of the tournament to get more than one five-wicket haul in this cash-rich league.
It was Jasprit Bumrah’s first 5-wicket haul at the Wankhede Stadium, his home ground for Mumbai. Bumrah had two opportunities for a hat-trick during the match, but he couldn’t achieve this milestone in the IPL.
