Matthew Hayden shares a massive verdict regarding the Siraj vs Head saga

One of the most talking points of the pink ball test was brawl between India’s Mohammed Siraj and Australia’s Travis Head on Day 2 in Adelaide Test match, Siraj still holds his ground on the confrontation he had with Head. The incident allegedly began with the latter saying ‘well bowled’ after being out bowled, which was contradicted by the India pacer. Apparently, Matthew Hayden did join in the discussion since he apparently witnessed it live and could lip-read in the altercation between the two players.

“Hear one of those guys. For me, there’s no need to go further with that: an incident that neither party wanted. I for one don’t think the cricket public enjoyed that sort of reaction. An absolutely brilliant ball has been bowled by him. That was an incredible innings, actually a great moment when Travis Head was removed,” Hayden added in his commentary for Star Sports on Day 3 of the day-night Test.

“He said ‘well bowled’. I could lip-read. But I suppose, in the heat of the battle there is always going to be misinterpretation. But the point is my opinion, all is fair in love and war when it comes to the actual removal of the batter,” Hayden stressed.

Both cricketers have decided to bury the hatchet and walk past the misunderstanding that was created between the two. Siraj-Hug exchanged after the match concluded in Adelaide while the two were seen having a brief discussion on the field on day 3 of the game.

Arguments may still be raised that the incident is punishable, and thus, ICC decided to punish the team.

Ten wickets carried the day for Australia against India in the pink-ball contest and levelled the series at 1-1.
