Matthew Hayden Applauds Nicholas Pooran’s CSK Heist: A Clean Hitting Masterclass

Former Australian great Mathew Hayden went all praise for Nicholas Pooran, calling him the cleanest hitter in the world. Hyden was impressed by the cameo played by Pooran, helping the Lucknow Super Giants defeat CSK in their own backyard.

In his interaction with Star Sports, Matthew Hayden said that the Lucknow Super Giants were in trouble when Pooran came out to bat.

Matthew Hayden said, “The 19 balls that Padikkal took up before his dismissal were putting Marcus Stoinis under enormous pressure. When he was bowled this evening, that was probably the best outcome for LSG because it brought in the accelerator. Nicholas Pooran is the cleanest hitter in the world, I think, in this IPL. Such a talented free hitter of the ball.”

Hayden further went on to say, “Got great options against both pace and spin. At that stage, when you’ve got a Ruturaj Gaikwad-like inning forming, as Marcus Stoinis was creating, they were actually going neck to neck as well. It was almost like a competition within the competition as to the stabilizers of the innings and then the finishers, Shivam Dube and Nicholas Pooran, that were just blasting away. And some great re-guard action from Deepak Hooda as well.”

The Lucknow Super Giants have claimed the fourth spot in the points table with this victory over the Chennai Super Kings. They will be playing against the Rajasthan Royals on April 27th.
