Marnus Labuschagne joins County cricket league, Check out

Australian cricketer Marnus Labuschagne has signed a short deal with Glamorgan before the World Test Championship final against South Africa. He’ll only play in two matches, which will help him gear up for the big final set to start on June 11 at Lord’s. This will be his fifth straight season with Glamorgan in the County Championship. Last year, he played four games, scored two centuries and two half-centuries, which helped him get ready for the important series against India.

This time, Labuschagne will play against Northamptonshire and Middlesex on May 16 and 23 at Sophia Gardens. He’s stepping in for Colin Ingram, who was Glamorgan’s top run-scorer in the second division last season. Glamorgan’s Director of Cricket, Mark Wallace, expressed excitement about Labuschagne’s return. He noted that this would also give Ingram a chance to rest before the Vitality Blast.

“Marnus is part of the team here, and we’re eager to have him back in Wales for a couple of games. Even though it’s just for a short time, it’ll help Colin recharge,” Wallace said.

Labuschagne has played 57 Tests, scoring 4,396 runs with an average of 46.76. His performance has dipped in the past three years, with averages of 34.91 in 2023, 30.93 in 2024, and just 14.50 from three Tests in 2025. He’s eager to find his form again, and playing County cricket is a good chance for that.
