Major injury concern for Sri Lanka ahead of second test against Bangladesh

The Lankan Lions have been dealt a huge injury blow as their star pace bowler Kasun Rajitha is all set to miss the second test against Bangladesh due to injury.

Sri Lanka are already trailing in a two-match test series by 1-0, and the second match of the series is all set to start on March 30 at Chottograam.

Kasun Rajitha was one of the heroes for Sri Lanka, as he picked up 8 wickets in the first test and 5/56 in the second innings.
Asitha Farnando has been named as his replacement.

In an official statement from SLC, it is said, “Kasun Rajitha will not be available for the second Test match as the player has suffered an injury to his left upper back area.”

Asitha Farnando picked up 10 wickets the last time he was seen in red ball format for Sri Lanka in Bangladesh in 2022.

Asitha Farnando last played a test match in February against Bangladesh.

He was initially not part of the Sri Lankan squad due to a back injury but has recovered well on time.
Sri Lanka has never lost a test series against Bangladesh.
