LSG vs CSK, Match 34: Ruturaj Gaikwad Exposes The Weakest Point Of Chennai Super Kings In IPL 2024

In the 34th game of the IPL 2024 game, Lucknow Super Giants performed better than Chennai Super Kings and beat the visitors by eight wickets. In this match, even though Chennai scored 176 runs in 20 overs, they lost their seventh match of the season by eight wickets. KL Rahul made 82 runs, and Quinton de Kock scored 54 runs, together making a partnership of 134 runs for the opening wicket.

CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad expressed disappointment with his bowlers’ performance during the powerplay overs. He believes it’s the team’s weakest area and they need to improve on it.

Ruturaj Gaikwad said, “We were 10-15 runs short. The pitch was slow during our batting, but it changed completely in the second innings due to dew. The batting became a lot easier.”

“We have failed to take wickets in the powerplay overs and this is one area where we need an improvement. On venues where we are 10 runs short, the only way to win a game is by taking wickets in the powerplay. We will discuss about it to rectify the shortcomings before our next match,” added Gaikwad.

For Chennai Super Kings, Ravindra Jadeja scored 57 runs which included five fours and one six. MS Dhoni once again made a cameo and smashed 28 runs in just 9 balls. With this, CSK managed to post a total of 176 runs at the loss of six wickets.
