Marcus Stoinis makes an unbelievable record as he makes the highest individual score in the history of the IPL in a run chase. Lucknow Super Giants become the first team to beat Chennai Super Kings in their home ground. Marcus Stoinis played an unbelievable knock of 124* out of just 63 balls, helping his team chase a mammoth total of 211.
Batting at number three, Marcus Stoinis turned out to be a star for the Lucknow Super Giants, smashing his first IPL hundred. Marcus Stoinis also breaks the 13-year-old record of Paul Valthaty, who scored 120* against CSK in a run chase in 2011.
Highest individual score in run chase in IPL history:
124* Marcus Stoinis (LSG) vs. CSK in 2024
120* Paul Valthaty (PBKS) vs. CSK in 2011
119: Virendra Sehwag (DC) vs. Daccan Chargers in 2011.
119 Sanju Samson (RR) vs. Mumbai Indians (2021)
117* Shane Watson (CSK) vs. SRH 2018.
Apart from this, 211 is the highest ever run chase by LSG on CSK’s home ground; before this, it was 206, which was chased by CSK against RCB in 2012.
