LSG Franchise Removes Andy Flower From Head Coach Role, Mulling Over This Legend For Next Season

Before the IPL 2024, Lucknow Super Giants have decided to part ways with head coach Andy Flower despite their consecutive appearances in the Indian Premier League playoffs. The franchise made an announcement on Twitter expressing their gratitude towards the former Zimbabwean player and thanked him for all the contributions he has made for the team.

There are indications that Andy Flower might not be the only one departing from the Lucknow Super Giants. According to initial reports, Gautam Gambhir has reportedly engaged in discussions with the Kolkata Knight Riders and he could possibly return to his previous team. As we know in Gambhir’s captaincy Knight Riders emerged as champions in 2012 and 2014.

According to Cricbuzz, former Australian cricketer Justin Langer is the top candidate for the position of head coach for Lucknow. Langer has achieved remarkable success during his tenure with the Australian team and won the T20 World Cup in 2021.

Despite the efforts of Andy Flower as the head coach, Lucknow Super Giants faced defeats in the IPL Eliminator matches against Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2022 and Mumbai Indians in 2023. Flower successfully established a strong team culture making the KL Rahul-led side one of the favorites to win the trophy in both seasons.
