Litton Das Returns In Bangladesh Squad For Remaining 2023 Asia Cup Campaign

The cricketing world is no stranger to the twists and turns that make the game so enthralling. In a recent development, Bangladesh’s batting lineup received a significant boost as Litton Das made a triumphant return to the squad for the Super 4 stage of Asia Cup 2023. His recovery from viral fever had kept him out of the initial matches, but now, he’s back to fortify the team.

Litton Das, the dynamic Bangladesh batter, had to overcome a viral fever that temporarily sidelined him from the action. This unexpected illness had prevented him from joining the squad in Sri Lanka for the tournament opener. However, cricket fans and the team eagerly awaited his return to the crease.

The road to his comeback began with a crucial step a clearance certificate from the medical team. Once the green light was given, there was no holding back. Litton Das was all set to rejoin the squad for the Super 4 stage of the Asia Cup, as confirmed by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

While Litton Das was recuperating, Bangladesh was making waves in the tournament. They had secured their spot in the next stage with a resounding 89-run victory over Afghanistan. Mehidy Hasan Miraz, filling in for Das at the top of the order, etched his name in the game’s annals with a memorable hundred. Unless Afghanistan could conjure a miraculous win against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka were poised to qualify from Group B.

As the team progressed, the Asia Cup squad had a few injury concerns, and the team management saw the necessity for an additional player, especially with the Super Four looming.

With Litton Das returning to the fold, Bangladesh faces the intriguing challenge of rearranging their batting order. In his absence, Mehidy Hasan and Mohammad Naim opened the batting against Afghanistan. This shift occurred after Tanzid Hasan’s unfortunate duck in the opening game.

Najmul Hossain Shanto also stepped up, making an impact from the No.3 position with a century against Afghanistan. The return of Das at the top of the order presents a puzzle for the team. Mehidy might be moved back down the order to his usual batting position as the team strategizes their lineup.
