Praised India captain Rohit Sharma by India batter Sarfaraz Khan for making the dressing room livelier and treating the newcomers in a special way. Last year, Sarfaraz played his first Test match against England where he scored two fifties at Rajkot during his debut. He made 200 runs over 3 matches with 79.37 strike rate.
For Bangladesh’s first Test match which will start on September 19 in the city of Chennai Sarfaraz was called upon. The team has arrived in Tamil Nadu state’s capital and commenced with their preparations. Sarfaraz spoke to Jio Cinema saying that captain Rohit Sharma is unique and behaves like an elder brother who gives everyone comfort
“He’s very different, makes you comfortable and is like an elder brother to us. I enjoy playing with him. He never treats you like a junior. He’s a positive guy. The way he speaks, it boosts your confidence,” said Sarfaraz.
“Lagaan is my favourite movie. Aamir Khan assembles his team in a manner similar to how Rohit bhai brings ours together. To me, he is Aamir Khan from Lagaan. It feels like family,” he further stated.
After the first Test, the advanceness of Kanpur will see teams play their second match at Green Park. Three T20 Is which follow the Tests are scheduled to take place in Gwalior, New Delhi and Hyderabad.
The BCCI announced the 16-man squad for first Bangladesh starting in Chennai on September 19, marking Rishabh Pant’s return to India’s Test set-up after almost 20 months. Later this month, when Team India embarks on its home season, the former captain Virat Kohli will also be back in action.
Pant played his last game with Bangladesh during the second and final Test at Mirpur from December 22-25 until he got into a car accident just few days later on December 30 whereby it would only take IPL this year for him to return to top flight cricket.
