Kumble Names 4 Big Spinners To Whom Mumbai Indians Could Target In IPL Auction 2023

The IPL auction is just 2 days to go and all the 10 franchisees will look to dive into the auction pool to pick their desired players. The retention from the teams has already been done and Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians will look to get a star spinner that is missing from their squad.

Currently, Mumbai Indians have two uncapped spinners – Kumar Kartikeya and Hrithik Shokeen who have done quite well in the IPL 2022. However, the former Punjab Kings coach and now among the panel of IPL auction experts for Jiocinema Anil Kumble have come out with some names who could be marquee spinners for Mumbai Indians in the upcoming season.

Kumble said, “Mumbai Indians don’t have a marquee spinner in their ranks. Kartikeya did really well for them last year. If they have to go for an Indian spinner with experience then they will have to probably go back to Amit Mishra or Piyush Chawla. I don’t see that happening. Perhaps, the only option for them is to go for the overseas spinner. Who will it be? There’s Adil Rashid, Tabraiz Shamsi, Adam Zampa,” he said.

Kumble also highlighted the name of Zimbabwean batting all-rounder Sikandar Raza who is doing pretty well in the T20s. Kumble counted the benefit of Raza and talked about how the player could add depth in batting as well.

He stated, “I would probably look towards Sikandar Raza because he can also give you wonderful middle order batting as well, along with his spin which is not easy to pick, and he has done well in the recent past.”
