During the third Test match at Lord’s on Sunday, Sri Lankan cricket legend Kumar Sangakkara criticized England’s Harry Brook for how he got out on Day 4. Brook appeared to be in good form, hitting Akash Deep for two fours and a six in three straight balls. Even though England had already lost three wickets, Brook kept playing aggressively. However, about 15 minutes before lunch, Akash Deep bowled him as he tried to play a risky shot. He attempted to sweep the bowler but missed, and the ball hit the stumps. Sangakkara didn’t agree with Brook’s choices, commenting, That’s just being too cocky, not even ‘Bazball’.
In the match itself, Mohammed Siraj took two wickets, leaving England at 98 for 4 by lunch on the fourth day. Starting at 2 without loss, England quickly lost Ben Duckett for 12 when he mistimed a pull shot off Siraj, and Jasprit Bumrah caught the ball at mid-on.
Siraj then got Ollie Pope out lbw for 4 with a ball that moved sharply inward. The decision was confirmed after India reviewed it, making the score 42 for 2.
Nitish Kumar Reddy dismissed Zak Crawley for the second time in the match in the 15th over, as Yashasvi Jaiswal at gully caught a loose shot.
Before lunch, Akash Deep bowled Harry Brook for 23 when Brook missed a swipe across the line, exposing his middle stump.
On Friday, India was all out for 387 in their first innings, matching England’s total.
