Kolkata Knight Riders, a franchise that has won the title two times since the IPL started. Once, they won in 2012 when they defeated Chennai Super Kings and others in 2014, and both the trophy came under the captaincy of former Indian batter Gautam Gambhir.
In the auction, KKR haven’t invested such a large amount, and they made their highest bid on Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan of 1.5 Cr; along with him, they picked David Wiese, N. Jagadeesan, Vaibhav Arora, and Bangladeshi left opener batter Litton Das on 1 Cr, 90 L, 60 L, and 50 L respectively. Earlier, they traded Shardul Thakur with Delhi Capitals.
The team KKR is looking very decent on paper, and it will be interesting to see how they perform in the upcoming season of the IPL. Under young skipper Shreyas Iyer, they have the best top-order batters in the form of Nitish Rana and Venkatesh Iyer. They have Rinku Singh, Shardul Thakur, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, and A. Russell to strengthen the middle order and even handle the batting in the death overs.
They have a world-class spinner in the form of Sunil Narine and mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy to grab the wicket of any dangerous at any time. Let’s wait until IPL sees how the world-class opener and mystery spinner will show their magic on the 22-yard field.
