‘Kohli, Rohit And Hardik Pandya.. Why Every Captain Who Comes In New Wants To Change The Old System?’

India faced a humiliating loss against Sri Lanka in the second T20I played at MCA, Pune. With the failure of their top batters, India fell short of 16 runs and lost the match. Meanwhile, the former Indian batter Ajay Jadeja has lashed out at captain Hardik Pandya on his mindset and has raised some questions over it.

Ajay Jadeja feels that every new Indian captain who is taking responsibility in the shorter version of the game is coming with a mindset to change the old system. The former cricketer has questioned why Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Hardik Pandya want to change the old T20 cricket system.

Jadeja looked anxious to know why the captains mentioned above want to change the old approach of Team India playing T20 cricket. He finds it berserk what is wrong with the system.

While chatting on cricket during a conversation with Cricbuzz, Jadeja said, “Why is it that every captain, at least three years I can think of that when Virat Kohli took over he wanted to change the way the Indian team played? Rohit Sharma took over, he wanted to change the way the Indian team played. Now, Hardik Pandya has taken over, he wants the Indian team to change.”

He continued, “Why is it that everyone who comes in new wants to change the old system? What is the system problem there?”

However, the interesting part was wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik had an answer to the ‘Change’ where he explained the approach of these three captains. Karthik feels that India did not win a single T20I World Cup win after 2007.

Karthik said that Virat Kohli brought that change but in Test cricket, on the other hand, Rohit Sharma had a great captaincy display during the bilateral series but failed in the recently concluded T20I World Cup held in Australia.

Dinesh Karthik said, “The answer is in the fact that we haven’t won any multi-nation tournament. Since 2013, we haven’t won an ICC tournament. I don’t know in 2014 somebody would have come and said that I want to change something because we won the Champions Trophy. Here we haven’t won a T20 World Cup since 2007.”

Cricinformer wants to inform you that the third and final T20I between India and Sri Lanka will be played in Rajkot on Saturday.
