Team India is currently on Bangladesh tour where they need 100 more runs to win the test match and the series against Bangladesh. After this series India will host Sri Lanka for a limited over series where a series of 3 T20I matches and 3 ODIs will be played.
The currently active Chetan Sharma committee will very soon pick the team for the upcoming series and exclusion of KL Rahul from the T20 side is what is coming from the course of the news gallery.
The reports close to BCCI claims that KL Rahul has asked the board for leave as he has designated his marriage with Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty in the month of January when Sri Lanka will be coming to India.
The selection committee Panel will be made later this week as per the BCCI sources and the squad for the Sri Lanka series will be picked under the guidance of Chetan Sharma’s committee only.
Apart from Rohit Sharma, there is no sign of Rohit Sharma as well and if doesn’t find his injury healed, Hardik Pandya will lead the T20I side for India.
While talking to PTI, a BCCI source said, “As of now, it doesn’t look like Rohit Sharma’s finger will heal enough before the T20Is and in that case, Hardik will lead the side. As far as KL Rahul is concerned, his T20I days seem to be numbered.”
