KL Rahul Removed From The Role Of Vice-Captain, Rohit Sharma To Pick A New Name Soon

In the latest report by a close BCCI Source, it has been reported that KL Rahul is no longer the vice-captain of team India. It is being said that Rohit Sharma has asked the BCCI to pick another vice-captain for the upcoming matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Rahul was chosen as the vice-captain when the team for the first two Test matches was revealed in December. It is reported that the selectors have chosen to remove the underperforming opener.

While talking to the Indian Express, a BCCI source told, “It was decided not to name any vice-captain. Instead, the power was given to Rohit Sharma. Who will lead the side in case he has to leave the field is Rohit Sharma’s call.”To choose the squad for the third and fourth Test matches, the senior selection committee members took a flight from Kolkata, where they attended the Ranji Cup final.

SS Das officiated this meeting after Chetan Sharma, the chairman of the selection committee got stuck in a sting operation. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma will miss the three-match ODI series against Australia due to family commitments. In the absence of Hitman Sharma, Hardik Pandya will take charge of team India.
