West Indies legend brain Lara was all praise for Kl Rahul with the way Rahul paced his innings against the Chennai Super Kings as LSG beat CSK by 8 wickets. K.L. Rahul was awarded Man of the Match for his prolific innings with the bat.
Kl Rahul scored 82 of just 53 deliveries, which included nine fours and three sixes. Lucknow chased down CSK’s target of 177 with six balls to spare.
Brian Lara also praised the way Kl Rahul put an opening stand alongside Quinton de Kock. The openers added 134 for the opening wicket, which laid the platform for Lucknow’s run chase.
In his interaction with Star Sports, Brian Lara said, “That’s a perfect inning.” I think he started very well. What is also important, and you can’t forget about it, is the opening partnership. Quinton de Kock’s coming back to form was great, but the captain needed to bat through the innings, and that’s what he did.”
Lara further added, “Unfortunately, he got out at the very end to a brilliant catch by Jadeja, but he had to play that sort of an innings, especially in a chase where the total is not something above 200. I totally enjoyed it; it was a professional match played by LSG, and they would be very happy to get the two points. This win is going to give them confidence moving forward.”
With this victory over Chennai Super Kings, Lucknow Super Giants are currently placed at number four in the points table with 8 points.
