KL Rahul Or Shubman Gill? Dinesh Karthik Picks His Opener For The WTC Final

Indian batters are going good in the fourth and final test of the four-match Test series of Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Virat Kohli scored a memorable 186 runs in 364 balls which boosted India with confidence. India took a lead of 91 runs and finished their first innings at 571.

On Day 3 of the Ahemdabad Test, Shubman Gill also smashed a century. It was Gill’s second ton in the longest format of the game. After this century, fans started praising Gill’s knock and backed him to be in the team in place of KL Rahul who has been out of form since months and dropped from the Test team.

Meanwhile, veteran Indian wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik has said that KL Rahul should only be considered in the team if he keep wickets otherwise Shubman Gill is the best choice as a batter.

While giving his opinion on Cricbuzz, RCB player said,”I will see how Rahul feels because KL is not somebody who enjoys keeping in Test cricket because it is a completely different ball game. But I will definitely keep that in the back of my mind. It is an option that is very, very usable if KL is up for wicketkeeping.”

Talking ahead Karthik applauded the innings of Shubman Gill and said that he wants to see the youngster in the playing XI of ICC Test Championship finale.

Karthik further added,”I will definitely go with Shubman Gill, there’s no doubt about it. The man got a hundred in the last Test before the WTC final. You get the feeling that Shubman Gill is in for the long run. He is a long racehorse. He’s the one that you want to put your money on and say, ‘I want to see him in 2033 still there opening for India.”
