Kl Rahul drops this massive statement after beating LSG in lucknow

KL Rahul showed off his skills with the bat, leading Delhi Capitals to an easy eight-wicket win over his former team, Lucknow Super Giants, in an IPL match on Tuesday. This was his first game back at Lucknow since getting released last year, and he scored an impressive unbeaten half-century, hitting three fours and three sixes while team owner Sanjiv Goenka watched from the stands.

Rahul and Goenka had a rough fallout last year after LSG had a bad season, finishing seventh and missing the IPL playoffs for the first time in three years. After leading the team for three seasons, with two playoff appearances, Rahul was let go before the mega auction in 2024. He wrapped up the win with a six, ending with 57 runs off 42 balls.

After the match, Rahul rushed through the usual handshakes with Goenka. He later posted on social media saying, Always good to be back in Lucknow, along with some photos from his innings. In one of the pictures, he celebrated by pointing to his name on the back of his DC jersey.

When Rahul left LSG, he hinted that things weren’t great in the team. He said, “I wanted to start fresh, explore my options, and find a place where I could play freely in a lighter team atmosphere.

Goenka later explained the team’s decision to keep certain players while letting others, including Rahul, go. He said, “We wanted players who prioritize the team over individual goals and aimed to retain as much of our core as possible.”
