Kl Rahul drops a massive reason behind parting ways with the Lucknow Super Giants

KL Rahul, one of the best talented batter, spoke when asked about his journey in the Indian Premier League after the Lucknow Super Giants management decided to release the 32-year old prior to the next mega auction.

Rahul, who captained the LSG side in the last season, but has not been included in the players degree retained by the IPL unit, claimed that he wanted to make a clean start. He went on to say that he was encouraged to play within himself and not in a way that expressed all of who he was.

“I wanted to start afresh. I wanted to seek opportunities. I wanted to leave and play where I can get some liberty,” said Rahul.

“I mean, a lot of times such a team environment would be less strict, there are times when one simply has to step away and do what is best for them and I have been away from the T20 side for some time now,” he added.

Rahul is out of form in the shortest version of the game and it has been across two years that he last wore the iconic Indian blue jersey. The batter from Karnataka noted that he was looking forward to playing in the next season of the T20 league despite being in a rough patch for some time.

“I know my position as a player and I know what’s next on the agenda for me,” the 32-year-old added.

“I am really looking forward to this IPL season because I want the opportunity to go back and enjoy playing the cricket that I love,” he emphasized.

He also mentioned that he intends to return to the Indian squad in the T20 format and would probably focus on an impressive performance in the next season of the lucrative franchise league.

‘My focus is to get back into the T20 set-up for sure,’ the keeper-batter said.
