The Kolkata Knight Riders have been a team to beat this season. They have played some really aggressive cricket this season. The team has sort of found the right balance with regards to both batting and bowling and would like to continue the same.
However, after their colossal 98-run victory over the Super Giants, KKR’s pacer Harshit Rana said that the team is focused on the kind of cricket that Gautam Gambhir wants them to play.
Gautam Gambhir, who has already won two championships with KKR in 2012 and 2014, returned to the team as a mentor.
His return brought a boost to the team, and they have been playing some fearless cricket this season. The Knight Riders are currently at the top of the points table as well.
In his post-match presentation, Harshit Rana said, “KKR read the wicket very well. In the areas we had to bowl, we targeted the right places.”
Rana further added, “We focus a lot on the style of cricket that Gautam Gambhir wants us to play. He has a lot of knowledge on how to turn games in our favor. Like today, he gave the bowlers a free hand on what areas to target on the pitch.”
KKR will be next seen in action against the Mumbai Indians on May 11.
