Kedar Jadhav, an Indian cricket player, has declared his immediate retirement from all competitions. His final Indian uniform appearance came in a 2020 Auckland match against New Zealand. He also participated in the England-hosted 2019 World Cup. In addition to confirming his retirement, Jadhav thanked his followers on Twitter for their love and support over the years.
“Thank you all For your love and support throughout my Career from 1500 hrs. Consider me as retired from all forms of cricket,” Jadhav wrote in his tweet.
In the run-up to the 2019 World Cup, the middle-order batter—who ended up participating in 73 matches—was one of the most important players for India. In addition to two centuries and six fifties, he amassed 1389 runs at an average of 42.05 and a strike rate of 101.6.
Even though Jadhav participated in the 2020 India vs. New Zealand match, he quickly disappeared from the picture as the squad prepared for the 2023 World Cup. In just nine T20 appearances, the 39-year-old managed to score just 122 runs with a strike-rate of 123.23.
Oddly enough, Kedar Jadhav was a key member of the Chennai Super Kings’ winning squad in 2018. He last appeared in an IPL 2023 match for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the second half. Jadhav has also been providing Jio Cinema with Marathi commentary during this time. He participated in the IPL for two more clubs, namely Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad, in addition to RCB and CSK.
Over the course of his 95 IPL games, Kedar Jadhav amassed 1208 runs at a 123.14 strike rate and four fifty-score innings. He played against the five-time champion Mumbai Indians in his final IPL match at Wankhede Stadium, and he will probably now be seen providing Marathi commentary behind the mic.
