Kagiso Rabada issues a massive warning to Australia ahead of the WTC final

The lively South African fast bowler will shoot a clear warning shot on Monday (January 6) for Australia, saying the Proteas know well how to deal with the baggy-green. The one bowler from his country to have taken 100+ wickets in WTC, Rabada will lead South Africa against the Australians during the WTC final, which is scheduled to take place from 11 to 15 June at Lord’s. South Africa bagged their spot into the WTC final after beating Pakistan by 2 wickets in the Boxing Day Test played at SuperSport Park, while Australia qualified for the second WTC final in a row by securing a 6-wicket win over India in the fifth and final Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, held between January 3-5 at Sydney Cricket Ground.

Rabada, who boasts 49 wickets from 10 Tests against Australia, said after South Africa crushed Pakistan by 10-wicket victory in the second Test of the two-match series at home on Monday (January 6) in Cape Town, “It’s actually quite some distance away, but a big occasion like the World Test Championship final gets you up for it.”

“South Africa has had that kind of rivalry with Australia historically ‘towards all things intense because we play cricket quite similar: we play hard, and they’re going to come hard at us, and we know that.

“But we also know how to get around them.”

“100%-Test cricket is still alive. It’s our best format that we’ve been playing right now. When you look at South African Cricket and all our legends, they’ve been great Test cricketers. The best players in the world are Test cricketers, and this series against Pakistan has been a wonderful advertisement for Test cricket, especially in South Africa.”

With the ICC WTC Final looming, Australia will play a two-Test series against Sri Lanka starting from January 29 in Galle , but South Africa’s last five-day match before the final isn’t scheduled yet but will look to find opponents .

“We’re going to try and get a Test match, possibly in the UK, against Ireland or Afghanistan, whoever is free. But if unsuccessful, then we will obviously go out a couple of days earlier and make sure we camp there really well, probably in Canterbury,” as quoted by coach Shukri Conrad.
