Jos Buttler Picks Top-5 Players In His ODI World Cup XI, One Indian Included

England’s white-ball captain, Jos Buttler has picked his top five players for his World Cup XI in anticipation of the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup. While he included one of his teammates in the list, he also featured a veteran Indian batter.

Jos Buttler’s first pick for his World Cup XI is Adil Rashid. The star leg spinner of England has been a key player for the team for years. Rashid has had a reasonably good year, securing 15 wickets in seven ODIs. As the defending champions, England will rely on him to take wickets in the middle overs especially on pitches that favor spin bowling.

Jos Buttler then picked Quinton de Cock who is going to retire from the ODIs after the ODI World Cup. The left-handed batter has played 10 matches this year in which he has scored 343 runs.

The third player in Buttler’s list is Rohit Sharma. The Indian skipper was the highest run-scorer in the 2019 ODI World Cup where he scored 648 runs. In 2023, Hitman had scored 658 runs.

Jos Buttler has also included Glenn Maxwell in his list. Maxwell is known for his ability to influence and change the course of the game, both with his batting and bowling skills.

Jos Buttler rounded out his list with the inclusion of Anrich Nortje, even though Nortje is set to miss his second consecutive World Cup this year.
