Jonathan Trott drops a massive statement regarding team India’s approach in the 4th test

Jonathan Trott, a fellow Englishman, is standing by England captain Ben Stokes after some people criticized Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar for not shaking hands at the end of the fourth Test’s fifth day.

Trott thinks Jadeja put his own goals ahead of the match’s outcome. With the Manchester Test likely to end in a draw, Stokes offered a handshake to call it quits. But Jadeja, at 90, and Sundar, near 80, declined, seemingly wanting to reach personal milestones.

Stokes, annoyed by this, gave the ball to Harry Brook, who then bowled in an unusual style. After this, the Indian batsmen reached their milestones within 15 minutes.

Trott stated that during this Bazzball period, results are what really count, not individual stats.

Trott told Jiostar that if the situation were reversed and Shubman Gill offered a handshake, Stokes would have accepted. Ben Stokes’ actions show that he probably would have shaken hands with the Indian captain and left the field if the roles were reversed.

Trott added, In the baseball era, results are more important than individual achievements.

Sanjay Manjrekar, a former Indian batsman, disagreed with Trott, calling Stokes a spoiled child who mocked the game. Okay, he was angry that the players didn’t leave, but having Brook bowl like that when your main bowlers are tired is disrespectful to the game.

Stokes explained to the BBC after the match that he wanted to end the game quickly so his bowlers could rest before the next Test. We tried everything we could, but eventually, there was only one possible result.

Stokes said, I couldn’t risk my best bowlers in that situation, especially with the next Test coming up so soon.
