The third and last T20I encounter match of the 3 T20I match series between India and New Zealand will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.
Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and U-19 Women’s World Cup winning team will join to watch the match. BCCI Secretary Jai Shah has confirmed this news from his official Twitter handle.
“I am very happy that Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar and BCCI officials will felicitate the victorious Indian women’s under-19 team on February 1 at Narendra Modi Stadium at 6.30 pm. Young cricketers have made India proud and it is important for us to honor their achievements” Jay Shah tweeted.
India women’s Under-19 team won the World Cup by defeating England by 7 wickets in the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Potchefstroom, South Africa. It was the inaugural edition of the Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup.
After this glorious news, Board for Control Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah invited the team to watch the third T20 between India and New Zealand in Ahmedabad on February 1. With this victory, India’s long wait for a trophy in women’s cricket ended.
“I invite Shefali Verma and her victorious team to join us at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and watch the 3rd T20 match on 1st February. This huge achievement certainly calls for celebration,” Jay Shah tweeted.
