Jasprit Bumrah is the Indian premier bowler, and he surprised everyone by showing up at the ground of Gujarat College in Ahmedabad on Monday when Tamil Nadu was playing Karnataka in the Vijay Hazare Trophy match. The 32-year-old fast bowler was very low-key and practiced quietly at the nets, avoiding the usual attention of the fans. He took his session short but productive under the observation of ex-Gujarat coach Hitesh Majmudar.
According to The Hindu report, Bumrah began with a short run-up and made the delivery longer and longer with every succeeding ball. By the end of the practice, he was running to deliver the ball like before but still was not at his full speed.

Jasprit Bumrah has most recently been a part of India’s T20I series against South Africa and is now taking a break from competitive cricket. Along with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, his fellow players, Bumrah is not playing in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy matches.
Gujarat College ground was visited by him in a very quiet way, which allowed him to practice without the distractions of people and media attention. A short session of Jasprit Bumrah also provided an opportunity for the players of the Gujarat Ranji team, including Sunpreet Bagga, to face a first-class fast bowler.
During a 30-minute bowling session with Bagga, Jasprit Bumrah attempted to make the ball bounce off the pitch and a little more to keep the batter vigilant, accompanying him with staying on his toes and playing for bounce. The pacer’s speed was in the range of 130-135 km/h, and he bowled two overs to Bagga.
Jasprit Bumrah is not likely to take part in the ODIs against New Zealand as the series is less than two weeks away. The management of the team seems to be taking extra care of his workload before the upcoming international commitments, including the T20 World Cup 2026, as he has already been named in the squad for India’s future international assignments.
