Mumbai Indians surprised everyone before the mini-auction of IPL 2024 taking Hardik Pandya at their side in an all cash deal. Pandya has been the captain of Gujarat Titans for two consecutive seasons and now he has left the team to report to the blue army in the upcoming season.
Now the rumour has been going around that Hardik Pandya will lead Mumbai Indians. Meanwhile, the star pacer of the team Jasprit Bumrah shared a cryptic message which many fans linked it with the Pandya and his captaincy rumours.
On Monday, during the retention of players Hardik Pandya got his previous team back. He joined GT in 2022 where he took his team to the final and won the tournament beating Rajasthan Royals in the final. In IPL 2023, GT once again performed brilliantly and entered to the final but failed to clinch the trophy this time against the Mahendra Singh Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings.
The vice-captain of Mumbai Indians, Jasprit Bumrah shared a cryptic message and wrote,”Silence is sometimes the best answer.”
The director of Gujarat Cricket Vikram Solanki also talked about Hardik Pandya’s decision and said,”As the first captain of Gujarat Titans, Hardik Pandya has helped the franchise deliver two fantastic seasons that resulted in winning one TATA IPL championship and one appearance in the final. He has now expressed a desire to return to his original team Mumbai Indians. We respect his decision and wish him all the very best in his future endeavours.”
