The second day of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy’s third Test in 2025 saw England and India battle it out. Joe Root was close to a century at the start of the day, and India wanted to dismiss the home team quickly.
Jasprit Bumrah, India’s top bowler, was impressive in the first innings again. He bowled 27 overs, gave up 74 runs, and took five wickets. One of the most talked-about moments from day two was how many times the ball was changed.
The ball was first changed early in the day because it was out of shape. The replacement wasn’t good either, so it was changed after 48 balls. Bumrah said he didn’t want to say anything that would cause trouble and cost him money. “I can’t control the ball changes. I don’t want to lose money since I work hard and bowl a lot. So, I don’t want to say anything controversial that will cause me to lose match fees. We bowled with the ball we had. Sometimes things go your way, and sometimes you get a bad ball. That’s how it is,” Bumrah stated at the press conference after the day.
India kept England to 387 runs in the first innings. Bumrah took five wickets, while Mohammed Siraj and Nitish Kumar Reddy each took two.
India then started batting and lost Yashasvi Jaiswal’s wicket at 13 runs. As day three nears, KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant are batting, and the score is 145/3.
