Jason Holder in massive trouble!! Replacement that GT can sign before IPL 2026

Gujarat Titans’ all-rounder Jason Holder has been quite vocal through his commentary on India-Pakistan situations and thus has set the stage for some discussions. The podcast Game On with Grace revealed his dislike for the present “India-Pakistan beef” and his regret over India’s decision not to accept the Asia Cup 2025 trophy.

The Caribbean bowler was among the brightest stars of the year 2025 in T20 cricket, which led him to have a leading role in the squad of Gujarat Titans for IPL 2026. However, his comments on India-Pakistan tensions might create a problem for him, and the franchise will contemplate alternatives.

The Windies all-rounder was acquired for ₹7 crores at the IPL auction and is still a part of Gujarat Titans’ roster. Nevertheless, as the season edges closer, let us consider three pace-bowling all-rounders who could be Gujarat Titans’ targets to fill in for Jason Holder.

  1. Evan Jones

The large-sized pace-bowling all-rounder Evan Jones can take the place of Jason Holder in a complete manner while sharing the same features and giving the Gujarat Titans team a chance of hitting in the late order and going for the balance at the No. 6-7 position.

His batting performance striking at 182 for Durban Super Giants in SA20 2026 with a death-overs strike rate of 233 brings the finishing impact that Holder was expected to deliver with the bat.

Strong domestic T20 season in South Africa made him take 10 wickets in five matches and his heavy-ball bowling style is well-suited to Ahmedabad conditions where bounce and hard lengths are rewarded.

  1. Ayush Vartak

The young Mumbai quick-bowling all-rounder Ayush Vartak has already been suggested as an Indian replacement for the much-celebrated all-rounder Jason Holder, as he possesses both strength and the ability to bat at No. 6-7, which is the position Gujarat Titans are looking for to bolster the team.

Vartak’s heavy outfit became the talking point for Mumbai in U23 Men’s State A Trophy, where he made a whopping 363 runs at an astonishing strike rate of 169.62 and hit 26 sixes, which are the second-most in the tournament, thereby reinforcing his image as an unafraid power hitter who also brings in a seam-bowling option.

  1. Manisankar Murasingh

The Tripura pace-bowling all-rounder Manisankar Murasingh had an exceptionally good Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy season, thus becoming one of the most all-round potent players of the year.

Murasingh was the tournament’s ninth highest scorer in the group stage with 277 runs, having a whopping average of 46.16 and a blowing strike rate of 172.04 while hitting 21 sixes, which put him next to Abhishek Sharma and Ayush Mhatre at the end of the group stage.

In addition to that, he was a major contributor with the ball too by taking 6 wickets while conceding runs at an unbelievable rate of just 7.6, thus making a strong case for being a true all-rounder in terms of seam-bowling who can fill the void left by Jason Holder at Gujarat Titans
