“It will be interesting to see…”Former Indian Spinner makes a bold prediction regarding Rohit Sharma’s future in the IPL

The IPL GC has issued a set of rules concerning player retention, but the teams have not yet released the lists of players they will save for the following edition. Even though the last date to file the list of the retained players in the respective teams is set on October 31, the fans and the analysts are however, already trying to figure out what will happen at the super auction that is expected to take place later this year.

One such event which is being talked about a lot is the rocked dynamism of Rohit Sharma, the Mumbai Indians captain from the previous edition who was replaced by Hardik Pandya as captain of the latter. As the season advanced, there was also some gossip regarding him and a tapes with him and some ex-Kolkata Knights’ batting coach which upset fans who thought this player would be leaving the team this next season coming up of the very profitable tournament. This is so bearing in mind that T20Is are in the past for Rohit, the fans will be delighted to watch him battle in the IPL.

60 while some former stars feel legends that are with the franchises since the very start should never be let go of even if the fans wish that is not the case regarding the players. Harbhajan Singh a retired cricketer from India concluded by saying that the auction will lead to fans Rohit is a star will cause intense competitive prices for him.

“It will be interesting to see whether he will be retained or not. If he goes into the auction pool, it will be fascinating to see which team bids for him. I’m sure many teams must be thinking along those lines,” Harbhajan told TOI on Thursday

“Rohit Sharma, as a leader and a player, is amazing. He’s a top-quality player, top-quality captain and leader. He is a proven match-winner. Even at the age of 37 years, there’s a lot of cricket left in him. If Rohit goes into auction, he will go for a big amount. The auction will be very interesting,” he said.

Of late, AB de Villiers, the former Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) cricketer, voiced his opinion on the matter. In response to a fan’s question posed during a live YouTube session, the ex-captain of South Africa said that if Rohit changes teams to RCB, it will be a much bigger story than the one of Hardik, who last year moved to MI in a full cash from Gujarat Titans.

“I nearly fell out of my chair at the thought of Rohit. Now that will be a story, if the likes of Rohit shifts from Mumbai Indians to RCB, Wow! What a day it will be. It will be bigger than what happened with Hardik Pandya, who, however, was able to return from the Gujarat titans to Mumbai, which was back to the southern state capital where he belonged. However, that was understandable. But if ever, Rohit goes to the RCB camp from Mumbai, it is unimaginable!” said De Villiers while participating in a live question and answer session on Youtube.
