In the ongoing ICC men’s T20 World Cup 2022 India is sitting comfortably at the top position with three wins out of four matches. The team will now eye the confirmed Semi Final spot with the final win against Zimbabwe.
So far Team India has been splendid in all the departments but they are lacking some good performance from the lower middle order, especially from the wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik’s bat. The performance of Karthik has been one of the talking points among the experts and many of them are in favor of the inclusion of Rishabh Pant over Karthik in the playing XI. The former Australian batter has now slammed the Indian cricket management for continuously adding Dinesh Karthik into the playing XI and he has claimed it to be a ridiculous decision. While giving the example of Tim David who is there in the Australian T20 squad without any experience, Ian Chappell makes a comparison with Indian Dinesh Karthik. While speaking to the morning Herald, Karthik said, “What has Tim David done at the international level? Sometimes, selectors pick players based on domestic form, and I think India is a classic example. They are picking Dinesh Karthik ahead of Rishabh Pant… ridiculous! I mean, Rishabh Pant should be playing every game. So, that’s the tendency.”

He further added,”I’ve been saying to wait on Tim David; let’s play him after the World Cup; get him some international matches. Not just belt the average 120 km/h guys; belt the 150 km/h guys. Because that’s not so easy.”
