Ishan Kishan has returned to the Indian team and delivered a performance which will stay in memory for future generations. The pocket dynamo, as he is known, displayed exceptional power and elegance during the second T20I match between India and New Zealand which took place in Raipur.
The left-handed wicketkeeper-batter tonked 76 off just 32 deliveries, taking each of the Kiwi bowlers to the cleaners. After the hosts reached 6/2 Kishan partnered with Suryakumar Yadav to create a 122-run partnership which developed extremely fast.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batter explained his mental approach during his post-match presentation while describing the sources of his motivation during his time away from the team. The 27-year-old wicketkeeper-batter from Jharkhand has had a tremendous domestic season, earning his place in the Indian T20I setup.
“I just wanted to score runs and sometimes you do it for yourself, to answer your own questions on if you’re good enough to play for India. I had a successful day when I brought my confidence from this location. I just asked myself one question that can I do it again or no and I had one answer that I can play through the innings and get runs,” said Ishan Kishan in the post-match interview.

The Indians started their second innings with an extremely poor performance which reached its lowest point. The openers went out of the game after scoring six runs because Adams Milne and Jacob Duffy bowled exceptionally well. The left-handed batter used his ability to defeat Zak Foulkes by scoring 24 runs against him in one over.
