Ishan Kishan reveals the hardest bowlers to face

Ishan Kishan who plays as wicketkeeper-batter for India has chosen his most challenging opponents for practice sessions. He stated that Yuzvendra Chahal represents the hardest spinner to face while Jasprit Bumrah created two different levels of difficulty between his batting and bowling. The veteran pacer maintains his normal performance level during all match situations according to Kishan who spoke about him in a recent interview. He mentioned that Bumrah practiced bouncers during training sessions whenever batters successfully hit his delivery.

“Among spinners, I find Yuzi bhai [Yuzvendra Chahal] tough to play; I think he’s figured me out. In pace, I mean, no one is better than [Jasprit] Bumrah bhai. Let me tell you a story. Bura maan jayenge (He might get upset) that I say this everywhere. Our practice sessions provide us with various types of wickets. Some will be grassy, others will be dry. The bowlers usually reduce their bowling intensity towards batters during grassy conditions except for Bumrah who follows his own practice methods. Ishan explained to the audience on 2 Sloggers podcast that batters who hit the ball perfectly will receive multiple bouncer deliveries.

Since his return to the India team during the T20I series against New Zealand Kishan has maintained exceptional performance levels. He played four matches during which he achieved 215 runs with a batting average of 53.75 and scored a century in the final T20I match which took place in Thiruvananthapuram.

Michael Klinger who played cricket for Australia believes that Kishan has presented strong evidence which should lead to his selection in India’s T20 World Cup playing XI.

“Ishan Kishan has come back in fantastic form and is certainly putting a case forward to start in the XI at the World Cup,” he said, adding that India’s depth has turned selection into a challenge rather than a concern”
