Veteran South African batter AB de Villiers has asserted that Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli are anticipating their second child. However, the celebrity couple has not revealed anything yet but given the fact that Kohli is out of the team citing personal reasons, this news might be true.
While talking about Virat Kohli’s absence from the Indian Test squad against England, de Villiers said, “All I know is he is fine. He is spending some quality time with his family, and that is the reason he is missing the initial two Test matches. I am not going to disclose anything else. I cannot wait to see him back. He is fine, he is doing well.”
He also recognized the significance of family in Virat’s life, confirming that the upcoming arrival of their second child is a crucial factor in his decision.
“Yes, his second child is on the way. Family time is crucial to him. If you are not true and genuine to yourself, you lose track of what you are here for. I think most people’s priority is family. You can’t judge Virat for that. Yes, we miss him. But he has made absolutely the right decision,” added de Villiers.
The speculation regarding Anushka’s second pregnancy started circulating in November 2023, especially after her appearance at a Diwali celebration in Bengaluru for Team India’s World Cup match against the Netherlands.
