Irfan Pathan’s Bold Statement: Hardik Pandya’s Captaincy Under Fire

Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan has criticized Hardik Pandya’s captaincy for the Mumbai Indians. One of the successful IPL franchises, Mumbai Indians, is on the verge of elimination. After being just stopped from 144, they were beaten by the Lucknow Super Giants by 4 wickets.

There have been questions regarding Hardik Pandya’s captaincy, as apart from Rohit Sharma (315) and Tilak Verma (341), none of the batters have shown form with the bat. On the other hand, none of the bowlers, apart from Jasprit Bumrah, have been threatening with the ball.

However, former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan feels that the team was not managed by the leadership group, which has been the reason for the Mumbai Indians not making the playoffs. The former all-rounder also highlighted the performance of the Mumbai Indians in qualifying for the playoffs under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, in spite of Jasprit Bumrah being unavailable for the entire season.

Irfan Pathan wrote a post on X in which he wrote, “The team Mumbai Indians that qualified last year didn’t have Jasprit Bumrah, but this season they had his services. Still, they are in this situation. Purely because the team wasn’t managed well on the ground. Too many mistakes were made by their captain, Hardik Pandya. It’s the truth.”

Mumbai Indians are currently placed at number 9 in the points table with just 3 wins and 7 losses from 10 matches.
