Irfan Pathan’s Analysis: Shivam Dube’s Bowling Skills Outshine Rinku Singh

Chennai Super Kings star all-rounder Shivam Dube made it into the World Cup 15 due to his phenomenal performance with both bat and ball. Dube’s selection was done, keeping Rinku Singh out of the squad.
Sharing his views on the decision that was taken by BCCI team India’s former all-rounder, Irfan Pathan feels that Shivam Dube was selected for the World Cup keeping his all-rounder’s role in mind.

Shivam Dube has not had ample opportunities with the ball for the Chennai Super Kings but has been bowling on a regular basis in the nets. Irfan Pathan feels that Shivam Dube can chip in with crucial wickets if needed in the World Cup.

In his interaction with Star Sports, Irfan Pathan said, “The reason Shivam Dube has been selected is because he can give you a couple of overs. Because of the impact player rule, he has not yet bowled in the match but can bowl one or two overs if needed. The matchup that I was very eagerly looking forward to was between Shivam Dube and Pat Cummins.”

Irfan Pathan also appreciated the hitting abilities of Shivam Dube, mentioning his batting against Pat Cummins, whom he hit for six and four on consecutive deliveries. Irfan Pathan feels that the way Shivam Dube batted against Pat Cummins must have grabbed selectors attention, which helped him get selected in place of Rinku Singh.
