IPL Becomes More Interesting As BCCI Adds A New Rule For The 2023 Edition

The preparation for IPL 2023 is going on in full swing and the latest development related to the rules of IPL, is now the IPL committee is all set to introduce the ‘Impact Player Rule’ as a part of tactical substitution.

A test of this rule has been already done during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy that happened last month. The BCCI found no trouble in the rule and now IPL will also witness this newer aspect in its 16th edition.

The sources claim that the IPL will kick-off at the end of march last year or early April and the BCCI is trying to make this tournament more interesting and impactful.

The ‘Impact Player Rule’ says that a captain will name 4 other players apart from his playing XI during the toss and one of them can be used to see the need of the game. However, a captain can get his impact player before the end of the 14th over and he will bat or bowl according to his assigned overs.

Adding to it, the Impact Player rule will not be applicable when the game will be reduced to 10 overs per side due to rain or any other hindrance.

The mini-auction for IPL 2023 will take place on December 23 in Kochi and the teams have already submitted the list of their retained and released players
